Another ESN Commander Has Taken Over – IPOB

The new commander of IPOB’s Eastern Security Network, ESN, took over after the assassination of Commander Ikonso.

On Sunday, a local resident of Biafra, IPOB, made the announcement.

A tactical group from the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Army and Civil Service Department (DSS) stormed the ESN’s operational headquarters in AwomamaOru East Local Government Area of Imo State, early on Saturday, killing Ikonso and six other group members.

Twenty-four hours after Ikonso’s death, the IPOB announced a new commander, but declined to name him. He revealed this on Channel TV, Sunday Politics, when he was IPOB secretary, Emma Powerful, as well as denying ESN's involvement in yesterday's attack on Hope Uzodinma's house.

“ESN is not the ones who attacked Uzodinma’s house. They cannot come for surgery and can tell you that you are an ESN.

When asked to explain the operational activities of the groups, he said: "We will follow the Fulani shepherds from the region."

Asked again to comment on the safety uniforms set by Ebubeagu's southeastern governors, Emma Powerful said: "They are ghost safety uniforms. There is no group like Ebubeagu."
