Nigeria To Receive Ibori’s £4.2 Million Loot Soon

The federal government has said the funds looted by former Delta governor, James Ibori will soon be returned to Nigeria.

Federation Attorney General and Justice Minister Abubakar Malami expressed confidence on Monday. Nigeria expects 4.2 billion pounds.

His spokesman, Umar Gwandu, said in a statement that sometimes when a country transfers funds, it takes more than expected because of some documents.

Malami said his office and other relevant government agencies will keep the public informed after the Ibori loot is released.

The minister added that the Nigerian government is in contact with the UK on the matter.

With banks in different countries, paperwork often takes longer than expected. We waited two weeks, but we don’t control the banks.

“There is neither complacency nor delay in efforts to ensure the successful transfer of the looted funds,” the statement said.
