Brazil defeat Spain after extra time to win second consecutive Olympic men’s football gold

Malcolm, who beat Spain 2-1 in extra time, won the second Olympic gold medal in a row for Brazil.

After Richardison crossed the Brazilian goal line and failed to score a penalty, Matheus Kunya scored in the first half of the first half.

Spain equalized when Mikel Oyarzabal scored, but former Barcelona striker Malcolm secured the Brazilian title with a goal in the 108th minute.

Brazil, who won a gold medal at home in Rio 2016, became the fifth team to retain the Olympic crown on another solemn night in Yokohama, winning their last five World Cup titles in 2002.
