Labour Declares Strike Over Mass Sack Of Workers In Kaduna
The Nigerian Labor Congress has announced a five-day strike in public and private organizations in Kaduna State in protest of the mass layoffs of workers by the state government.
The announcement came after a meeting of the NLC Central Workers ’Committee in Abuja on Thursday, April 22, in connection with the dismissal of 4,000 workers across 23 local administrative districts of Kaduna State.
When NLC President Ayuba Wabba came out with the news after the meeting, the cancellation of the five-day service by state workers would be totally unresolved by the state government.
Commenting on the development, Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) President Ayuba Wabba described the move as “arbitrary and brutal” and called on the Kaduna state government to reverse the mass sack..
