Still basking in the euphoria of their marquee signing, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentis has stated in clear terms that Juventus should be ready to break their transfer record to sign Victor Osimhen in future.
Interviewed by Corriere del Mezzogiorno at the weekend, Aurelio De Laurentiis expressed his delight for signing the Nigerian youngster and hoped that the former Lille forward would settle down quickly and hit the ground running.
While admitting that the former Royal Charleroi forward as an expensive investment, Laurentiis described Osimhen as a 30-goal striker primed to succeed in Serie A. “It is certainly a costly investment, but he is a strong striker that our sports director Giuntoli advocated for. A thirty-goal striker.I met him and he made an excellent impression on me, I hope he quickly settles in our championship “.“If Juventus are interested, they will have to pay without discounts,” said he.Osimhen sealed a contract with an option of a year in a deal worth €70m.
The talented player will see a €70million payday in the first year which could rise to €80million based on performance-related add-ons.The deal is the most expensive signing in the history of the club and the highest transfer deal of the summer so far.
Osimhen’s deal is €1million more than the African record transfer fee Arsenal paid Lille for Ivory Coast international Nicolas Pepe last summer.
